Hey this is Kirby Hasseman with the Monday Minute.
I needed to give myself an attitude adjustment this past week. I am living through one of those seasons where it seems like everything is happening at the same time. Perhaps you can relate.
I have events, both in-person and virtually. Work has been busy (yes, that's a good thing). It's just been a time where I don't ever seem to be able to catch up. While I enjoy a hectic pace most of the time, I worry that I am going to let some balls drop. It was really stressing me out.
One morning last week I woke up feeling overwhelmed and realized I needed to restart. I closed my eyes and began thinking of the things I was going to do that I was excited about. I made an important shift...
I went from "I have to." to "I get to."
I looked at my schedule and said " I get to edit this video." I get to meet with that client. I get to represent my community in an industry event. While those things still needed to get done (and there was a lot to think about), my attitude about them changed.
Saying "I get to" inserts a level of gratitude into your mind that most of us need...but often miss.
So as you look at your schedule this week...stop thinking about all of the things you have to do. Start considering the things you get to do. My guess is, you GET to do a lot of cool things this week.
Thanks for watching the Monday Minute!
