5 Ideas for Short-Form Videos

Useful Information That Doesn't Require Much Time Investment

3/14/2023 | Now Trending

Short-form videos are gaining popularity, thanks to sites like TikTok. Why? Short-form videos are also easier to digest than long-form ones. They provide consumers with interesting or useful information without requiring much time investment. Plus, short-term videos are ideal for mobile devices (especially smartphones) because they load quickly and don't use up much bandwidth from your data plan.

The popularity of short-form video means companies can provide consumers with valuable information without requiring a lot of time investment. This also has implications for how people consume media in the future, as more and more people use mobile devices to access content. Most people have short attention spans. That's why short-form videos appeal to so many.

Then there's the shareability of short-form video. If you're going to create a product demo video or tutorial video, then it makes sense that you'd want people to share it with others, so they can learn more about your product or service, as well as how great it is at solving whatever problem they have. People love sharing things on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, because it makes them look smart and in-the-know about what's trending right now.

But if you're going to make short-form videos, you need ideas! Here are some to consider.

Time-lapse video

A time-lapse is a short video that shows changes over time. It's an easy way to convey a lot of information in a short amount of time, which is why it works so well for social media. You can make a time-lapse video with your phone or tablet by regularly taking photos from exactly the same spot, and then uploading them together into one long video that people can watch on any device.

There are many ways to use this format, such as showing off how much work you're done on your house since last year (or even just this week), documenting the progress of something like a garden or tree growth over several months, showing seasonal changes like snow melting away after winter ends, or even sharing memories of special events in life like graduation day. The possibilities are limitless!

Behind the scenes

Behind the scenes videos show viewers how your product or service is made or how you run your business. To create a behind the scenes video, film your business in action. There are so many things you can do with a behind the scenes video. You can give people insight into who you are as a person and what your life is like. You can show them around your workspace and demonstrate how you work. You can also show them how to make something they might not see normally.

Show what goes on behind the scenes at your company's offices, where and how your products are made, or what goes into making a product from start to finish. This kind of video can be especially useful if your products have unique manufacturing processes or come from unusual locations (such as an island).

Short-form videos are ideal for showing off your company culture through interviews with employees, or behind-the-scenes footage of events and experiences.

Product reviews

Product reviews are a must-have in short-form video. It's a great way to showcase your expertise, and it can help you connect with your audience by showing them how your product works in real-life situations. To make product reviews exciting, film them as if they are a TV show segment. This will help keep viewers engaged from start to finish without boring them with too much information or an overly technical tone of voice.

If you're looking to get started with product review videos, here are some tips and tricks we've learned from making them.

• Make sure your video is focused on one product

• Make sure your video is interesting

• Don't try to sell too much

• Start with a broad overview of the product, and then go into detail

• Use screenshots and graphics

• Include links in the description box for more information

Recaps of events and experiences

When you've just gone through a big experience or event and want to share it with the world, a recap video is a great way to do so. You can use your recap video to share your message and/or story with others. For example, if you're speaking at an event, give people an idea of what they'll learn from your presentation by doing a quick recap in advance of the event.

You can use them for:

• Announcements -- New products, partnerships, or services

• Product updates -- New versions of your product or new features

• Events -- Conferences, meetups, and other community events

• Product usage -- Showing how people use your product in real life

FAQ videos

Frequently asked question (FAQ) videos are a terrific way to answer your customers' most commonly asked questions. If you create an FAQ video that addresses the top questions, it will help reduce support ticket requests and improve customer satisfaction.

These are just a few ideas for videos that can be created in short form, but there are so many possibilities. Hopefully, this list has inspired some of your own ideas. Happy filming!
